Who we are
Born in 1975, Cascina Sòt is a farm in Monforte d'Alba dedicated to the production of great Piedmontese wines.
How it all began ...
After working for years as sharecroppers on the company, Maria and Giuseppe bought the property. With the advent of his son Leonardo and his wife Silvana, the wine business became the main business commitment.
Today the company cultivates its own vineyards, some of which are located among the most prestigious crus of Barolo.
By dedicating the best care to the vine plants, precious and pure grapes are harvested, which during the vinification phase are processed to bring out the intrinsic characteristics of each vine to the maximum. Finally, with aging, the wines of Cascina Sòt are further embellished, acquiring precious tertiary hints.
Thus, from a small cellar, labels chiseled down to the smallest detail are born, produced with the utmost attention paid to every single working step, very expressive and capable of enhancing the varietal and the terroir of origin.
Philophy of Production
Respect for the future and the environment
In the Vineyard
This is our philosophy and these are some precautions that we practice in the vineyard:
Abolition of the use of chemical herbicides in favor of grassing which helps us to keep the soil cooler during the summer season and to avoid erosion during the most violent storms
Reduction in the use of more invasive pesticide products in favor of roofing products that are more eco-sustainable (copper and sulfur-based products).
In the basement
We are supporters of winemaking done in the most manual and natural way possible.
To pursue this goal, we exploit as much as possible natural resources such as winter cold to obtain tartaric stability and the low temperature of the water present in an ancient well to control temperatures during the vinification phase.

What do our customers think?
Really beautiful farmhouse immersed in the Langhe, family-run. We did the visit + tasting, the visit was led by the boy, very young, but exhaustive on all topics, engaging in the story and …
I gave myself these three wines packs of 4 bottles of each type. For now I have tasted only the Barbera which I would define as exceptional. I will taste the others at Christmas and Christmas Eve, but I am convinced that they will not disappoint me. Happy Holidays
